Well they have something that says "this user/idiot bought this item on newegg.com"

They do now. I dont know when they put it up, but not that long ago I would guess, especially being as there were reviews for the Phenoms on New Egg PRIOR to its actual release. At that time, they had the SKUs and descriptions listed on the site but the product as "out of stock". In fact, if I recall correctly, there were more reviews proir to its release than there are now. Apparently enough people pointed out to new egg CS that there were reviews for an unreleased product, that they removed them....which is precisely why this thread POs me and I condider it a violation of TOS....new egg does not police its reviews, they are little more than a blog rather than actual informative experiances. Obviously, not all are bad/crap/fake, and there are some very good ones, but there is enough garbage that you cant trust them....so to use them as proof of anything constitutes undeniably deliberate deception.....that or galactic ignorance

Tamalero, hermano! I think that one of those special habanero tamales "for shuting up your mouth" could come in real handy with the OP. Make sure you give him one that's 9inch long! :)

Why would you want better performance? Its a known fact that better performance doesnt mean it performs better! I would prefer to have a mediocre TRUE quadcore over intels cheating double quarter pounder glued quadcore any day!

4 months? You are an Intel fanboy because Intel is ALREADY is the BK.

Core 2 was just a distriction to make people not notice that they already BKed.

That's ridiculous. What he seems to be trying to say is that, even though Intel is "beating" AMD at the high end, Phenom's are not the disasters that Intel fan boy's claim. They're a budget quad core, not the enthusiast's quad core. We might have to wait for a few years before AMD competes at that price segment again.

As for Intel paying people, I never heard that they did. I did hear that Nvidia employees did that in a past generation GPU war.

Most people who fell for "Intel inside" marketing during the Netburst days were happy with their CPU's. So, I'm sure there were plenty of good reviews then. People usually compare their new PC to their old PC. Since most buyers of Dell's, HP's etc. only upgrade every 4 years or so, they're bound to be happy even if it's a new Celeron or Sempron.

I can't wait to upgrade to Phenom, I'm just waiting till late February to see if B3 stepping is around the corner. I'd rather have 45nm and 65 watts over 65nm and 95 watts.

I saw the bundle at Fry's last weekend but didn't have the spare cash yet to get it. Besides, I already have a couple of ASUS 690G motherboards, but the bundled boards should have the latest bios. Otherwise, I'll just have to flash the bios on each board.

Still, I"m tempted to give hybrid Crossfire a try. Would a Phenom on an upcoming 780G board with the IGP and a 3470 come close enough to a 3850 to make it worthwhile? The first incarnation of hybrid Crossfire won't have the energy saving features, nor will it support a card above the 3470. Too bad about that.

Phenom performance at that price doesn't disappoint me, but an incomplete hybrid Crossfire at launch does.

They're actually pretty decent for cases of compatibility/incompatibility. If the drivers for the part are or aren't compatible with $NOT_WINDOWS_XP_OS, that's pretty accurate and pretty commonly put in reviews. Also, if a part is labeled incorrectly in the specs, reviews will often point that out too and save a potential big headache, as in that heatsink actually *doesn't* work on one of the ten GPUs it said it would kind of headache. Sometimes pitfalls with a certain device are put in reviews and can be useful, such as an obnoxiously loud case fan or bad placement of headers on a certain motherboard. Yeah, most of the rest is crap though, especially anything dealing with price or performance relating to other parts.
