Make 64GB CF card appear as 60GB?

This might be a little confusing to explain, but I'll try my best.

I want to upgrade my old iPods 1.8" HDD with a CF card.
However, the HDD is 60GB, whilst the nearest CF card is 64GB.
Is there anyway to 'hide' the extra 4GB of storage? So that when I click on the iPod's "About" tab, it picks up the CF as "60GB", to mimic the original storage? Maybe by partitioning it etc.?

Sure you could partition it and not format the 4 gig section, it would be "raw" or unallocated and prob not detected by the ipod.

If the iPod will accept the extra storage why not just use it? Also formatting of drives usually cuts down on the actual size so the card may not report 64GB anyway.

Mine is not to reason why, but if the CF card supports the Host Protected Area (HPA) feature set, then you could use a tool such as HDAT2 to create a HPA. This will hide the additional capacity so that the OS will not see it.
