Need a bit of help.. I'm currently running a broken dual boot of windows 10 and elementary OS, windows 10 wont boot and I'm trying to create a bootable external HDD to install it. I know why windows doesn't boot so I don't need help there, the fix would require more time than I'm willing to invest so it's better for me to start over. I've formatted the drive to ntfs using gparted and copied the contents of my windows ISO to the drive, I then set a boot flag using gparted, booted to bios and changed boot order to usb cause I assumed that would be correct given the HDD is plugged into a usb port. It doesn't boot.

Hello... There needs to be 32 bit "bootable" files there for the MB BIO's to see at the USB port... Typically you format a USB stick to fat32 and check "make bootable"... it adds a portable OS to the USB stick.

So i just need to reformat to fat32, extract iso and set boot flag? I was actually looking that bit up earlier and I read here http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/windows-and-office/configure-a-usb-flash-drive-for-windows-7-installation-revisited/ that you it can be ntfs, but I'll try your suggestion and post back with results.
