Make an Asus Blu ray drive read as a LG drive?

So, similar to a lot of people, I have a blu-ray drive and don't want to pay an extra $99 for software. I have a copy of cyberlink which will work (from an LG drive package), but when I go to install it, it says I must have a LG product. Any ideas? Possible to install LG drivers for the Asus drive to trick it?

For those thinking I should put the LG drive I got the software from into my computer, it is not possible because I don't have it.

I await creative answers : )

Brett,

I think a little more explanation is in order. I have an LG blu-ray drive. However, it, along with the rest of my computer got fried when my motherboard bit the dust about a week ago (all I could save was graphics card). I purchased an Asus drive when I built my new computer, but figured I would use the software I bought with my LG drive originally.

But I do understand your concern and I definitely respect Tom's rules...

Hope that helps!
