Make Dial Phone ring on command without a line.

I have a rotary dial phone that I bought in order to use as a stage prop. I need to figure out a way that I can wire it up so that i can have it ring perhaps with the push of a button without it being connected to a land line. Is there a way I could go about doing this? I am experienced with soldering and hardware, but I am unable to find any info about how the phone rings, its mechanism, how much voltage is needed, etc. I do not want to open up the phone and cause it any internal damage without knowing these things first, as I only have 1 phone to use. Its actually kind of hard to do since you need 75v ac and -48v both at an odd frequency cycle.

Can be done but your dealing with ac voltages. Easier solution is play a sound effect on cue through speakers or buy a cheap cell phone with a classic ringer tone and hide it near the phone and call it when you want it to ring

Open the phone, take the guts out. Set up your cell phone with a ringtone like a rotary phone, and put it inside the phone.
