I am getting a Samsung 850 EVO Tomorrow and I have a few questions.

I have an Alienware Aurora R4: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

I want to keep all of my files on the HDD, and I realize that I will have to reinstall the Programs, but the data will still stay there, but how do i know if I have to reinstall the program? Does it say something about needing to reinstall it? And do I HAVE to Back-Up the Hard Drive and restore the files, instead of just unplugging the HDD and installing windows on the SSD, Then making the HDD the second drive?

For the drivers, I downloaded something called DriverBackup, Can I just restore these to the SSD and have all my drivers how they were on my HDD?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/drvback/

Thank you in advance.

Solution
Best thing you can do is completely reïnstall Windows. Then to install the driver, download the newest ones available from Dell's website. You should reïnstall every program you use, since install wizards often install extra software you need, and edit your registry.

Steps to take
1) Disconnect your current HDD
2) Connect your new SSD
3) Install Windows clean (from CD/DVD or USB)
4) Install Drivers (newest from Official Dell Site)
5) Install any programs you used (clean install)
6) Reconnect HDD
7) Access your data (not programs) from your old HDD

It is possible that some programs actually would work when you have Windows installed on your SSD, but they might still miss some functionalities or components.
