I was recently looking for an optical mousepad for my mouse and i was considering formica since i wanted a flat mousepad. Hard to find these days.

I was doing my homework one night and placed my mouse on the cover of my five star notebook (with the plastic cover) and i found that it proved to be an excellent mousepad. i use the inside of the cover which is the more rough side. and i attached it to my table with the sticky adheasive used to hang posters (purchased at staples)but im sure that you could use double sided tape. make sure that you round off the edges after cutting off the cover.

regular top of the desk here, one of those light color fake wood tops. it's perfect and cost nothing if you have the desk already. :)

at the lan I ended up on the kitchen table with super shiny top, mouse refused to work on it so had to use one of those rubber things people put under plates. think I had the world largest mousepad, but it worked damn well.

I use a hard cover book... without the plastic slieve... so the mouse is on that fine hessian surface. Its smooth and rocks. Course i could just run the mouse on the polished wood desk surface too.

I use my desk surface for my Logitech optical mouse. Works great.

I am searching for these HUGE mousepads, with a regular cloth surface. They must be about 20x30cm in size. Fatality for example used it (a quake3 player) along with his boomslang mouse. I heard something about them in the USA. Can anyone tell me where to get them?

My desk IS formica! It's a commercial grade high density 1.5" thick particle board desk (notice, I did say 1.5" thick) and all panels are covered in formica, and it has a nice urethane strip bonded to all edges.

You're posting in a forum with class. It may be third class, but it's still class!

Woah... I'm from the future... Searched for makeshift mousepads and stumbled upon a forum where the replies are dated the year before I was born
