making a 7970 an r9 280x

Hi i have two graphics cards
asus r9 280x dcu2 v2 (http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R9280XDC2T3GD5V2/)
+
asus 7970 dcu2
(http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/HD7970DC2T3GD5/)

they are physicaly the exact same cards other than the back plate

if i use the r9 280x bios and flash the 7970 would it work

i will try it because i want better power usage and the 7970 does have a dual bios switch i will be updating to see if this works.

the reason for this is to make people think you have two new line graphics cards and better scaling with crossfire

It seems some can indeed get flashed to R9-280x.

Yes I was able to with mine but some 7970s won't do it but since they have dual bios its really easy to revert it.

Do you recall exactly which bios you used? I also have a 7970 DCU 2 that I'd like to flash with a 280x bios.
