making a bootable usb

i have a windows 8.1 dvd ,but unfortunately my super drive has stopped working, so i wanted to transfer that data to a usb to install the windows from it. well it worked for me once but the next time i copied the contents, the usb wont boot and the system says that boot device not available

Hey there, Bilal_07.

Just use a different computer to create a bootable USB flash drive or a DVD with Windows 8.1. Check out this article, it has instructions on how to do that: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media. Note that in order for you Windows Key to work, you should get the same version of Windows 8.1 as the one you already have on you installation media.
