Approximate Purchase Date: Next 2 weeks

Budget Range: ($1000-$1200) After Rebates and After Shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (Gaming)

Are you buying a monitor: No - I already have a monitor

Parts to Upgrade: (CPU, mobo, RAM, GPU, PSU, Case)

Parts not needed, because I already have them: Monitor, SSD, Hard Drive, Keyboard & Mouse, DVD drive, Windows 7 OS

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: (newegg.com, amazon.com, micro center - local)

Location: NYC

Parts Preferences: I would like to upgrade to an Intel CPU with the ability to overclock it in the future. I'm also interested in water cooling the PC and making it as quiet as possible. For the GPU I'm looking for Nvidia.

Overclocking: Yes, in the future.

SLI or Crossfire: SLI, but optional - if the budget allows it.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I already have a monitor, an SSD, a regular HD, a gaming mouse and a gaming keyboard, as well as an non-OEM Windows 7, so those won't be part of the budget. My main goal is to max out every single game I play with a steady 1920x1080 60 FPS. 120 FPS would be nice, but I don't this budget will allow that. I'm also looking for a good CPU that I won't have to upgrade for a while and it won't bottleneck when I upgrade to another GPU (say a year or two from now). Last, but not least I'm looking for the most quiet setup as my current PC is kind of loud, so water cooling is a must.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My current PC is outdated and would require a new CPU and new GPU.

Solution
SLI without liquid cooling. All you need is a 144hz. monitor.

$1217, an MX200 500GB will bring that down instead of the 850 Pro 512GB if you want, or you can leave it out entirely if you're confident with the SSD you have. This will be enough to play any 1080p game at 60 FPS with FXAA.

This includes fans and a DVD burner in the price. More of the budget is allocated towards high fidelity parts that will last longer and perform better rather than pumping up the video card (since you won't need it at 1080p). The 120mm is for the radiator and the 140mm is for exhaust (which I recommend using the U.L.N.A). This is the best I could do.

GTX 960 can not do what you are saying. GTX 970 maybe or 980. You don't put a GTX 960 in a $1200 gaming build.
