I don't mind so much about the optical drive but I think I will choose between one of these:

Samsung SH-224B
LG GH24NS95

About the power supply I will choose one which can handle with the final computer, which would you recommend?

My principal concernings are about bottlenecks or if I'm buying some component which I won't use at it maximum possibilities.

Thanks

I would have to know budget before suggesting parts. If you post that that will help to suggest a system.

The budget is around 600€ or almost 800$

The componets which I list (processor+mobo+GPU+RAM) a above are around 400€~500$

Also please post the store that you're buying from. Most people will suggest Newegg and they don't ship to Europe. Check the link in my signature for stores.

I'm from Spain the store is:

http://www.appinformatica.com/

sorry but the web is not in English I think

Very strange - that store has no prices listed for any PC components.

I'll use a different store for comparison - Tienda Traxtore:

Case: Cooler Master Elite 431 - 49,90 €
PSU: Corsair CX600 - 68,90 €
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H77-DS3H - 87,90 €
CPU: 3.1GHz Intel Core i5-3450 - 181,90 €
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 1600Mhz 1.5V - 49,90 €
HD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue - 64,90 €
Optical: Samsung 22X Bulk DVD Burner - 19,90 €
Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition - 129,90 €

Total: 653,20 €

But there is any problem with the components I chose?

Is the mobo GA-H77-DS3H better than the mobo M5A97 R2.0?

And about the CPU? AMD FX-6300 has 3.5GHz and 6 cores and the Intel Core i5-3450 has 4 cores and 3.1 GHz.

I am planning to work with Mathematica, which can work with several cores in its latest version, and I want to have additional cores to work with the OS or to use internet without affecting the Mathematica performance.

Also, I want the video card for gaming from time to time but not at maximum speed, but I don't want to change it at least until a couple of years.

I guess this information is important, maybe you needed it before.
