Hi,,, So i just got a new computer with an ssd this time and all my stuff is being saved on the SSD but i dont want that i just want my OS on the SSD and all the other programs on my HDD so is there a way to make all the new stuff i do go directly to my HDD. And if i make my HDD my primary drive will my pc still read the OS off of my SSD??

Thank you:)

Hey there, Tristen!

Yes, there is a way for you to change the default install path to the secondary drive. You can refer to these tutorials from the community, depending on your OS version:
Windows 7 & 8
Windows 8.1 & 10

Another way to do that is while you're still installing the OS, however, it takes time to Relocate the User Profiles to the other storage drive and I guess you don't want to go through the struggle of reinstalling Windows again.

Hope these help you out, though. Best of luck! :)

Hey there again, Tristen!

There should be a way to do that but editing the registry is a very delicate job. I'd strongly recommend you to backup the Registry as it is right now and all your data elsewhere. Better safe than sorry, in case something goes wrong.
I believe that this Tom's Hardware Tutorial on How to move the user program files & data will be able to assist you with the step-by-step.

Best of luck!
