Ok so i wanted to kinda do an experimental trash to treasure type experiemental project.
idk if its even worth it tho.

ok so i have an old Dell lattitude d610

and i was thinking of adding a external gpu to it now through alot f research i have found out that this may be some what possible

with the pcmcia card slot on the computer i can use a pc card to pci expansion slot cable

these adapters are equivalent to pci-e express adapters in newer laptops except they are for older format pci basically the original pci slots before pci express

Plus i want to add 2 ddr2 ram sticks if thats even possible heard max ram was 2gb

The intel pentium m 780 Processor is the max cpu i can upgrade it too or the intel pentium 770 Processor

Plus of course upgrade the harddrive to a larger storage

Also the fastest gpus for pci bus are supposedly the zotac gt 610 and the zotac gt 630 these are also 64 bit cards but the adapter is 32 bit not sure if that will be compatibile

Retracted original reply. That PC Cardslot adapter may work but the limiting factor would be the single core processor.

The 780 is the best CPU you can install but some say it runs hot with it. 770 is probably the safer route.
Yes the max ram is 2gb according to Crucial.

Gt610 might be an ok fit, the 630 is too much imo. Its as powerful as a gt730. I'd go Gt520 or Gt220 myself but It really depends on what you can find used.
Here is a Hierarchy chart to help you see what ranks where.
