Heyo,

I am going to be making a workstation PC for streaming, gaming, video editing and a bit of rendering. It will also be used by my mates to play games when they come over. I might overclock but not much =). I can't decide between a couple of threadripper models and 2 motherboards. The motherboards are the ROG Zenith Extreme X399, ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha and the X399 Aorus Xtreme. The threadripper models are 1950x, 2920x and the 2950x. If I got the 2950x I would have to get the Aorus Xtreme X399 board due to the price of it but if I got any of the other ones, I could get the Asus board. I was thinking about doing the 1950x and the Asus board or the Aorus board and the 2950x.

OTHER SPECS
Storage - Samsung 860 Evo 1TB
CPU - ???
COOLER - NZXT Kraken x62
GPU - Zotac RTX 2070 AMP! Extreme
PSU - Corsair RMX 750w or 850w
CASE - Corsair 500D RGB SE Premium
MOBO - ???
RAM - Patriot Viper Steel 3000mhz 32GB

What's your BUDGET for the CPU, and the board ? I think the 2950X would be a much better option for rendering, streaming and other similar tasks. The Aorus Xtreme X399 seems to be a much better motherboard than the other two models as well, IMO.

Hey man. So you reckon go the Aorus Xtreme and 2950x? My budget is about $5k for the whole thing

How much will the Aorus Xtreme X399 and 2950X combo cost in your country? If you are on a tight budget, then you can also buy the ASUS model.

2950x is $1,320nzd, Aorus mobo is $680nzd and the Asus board is $1,175nzd. I was thinking maybe getting the 2970wx or the 2990wx with the Aorus mobo. I was leaning towards the 2970wx because it's cheaper unless the performance is noticeable?
