So... I have a pretty high end PC (i5 5675C @4.1GHz, 16Gb of RAM, no GPU yet) and my brother have an older one (A8 7600, 8Gb of RAM, no GPU). I plan to buy the new Rx Vega when it's available and I got the following Idea: To run my games on my PC while my brother can also play on his PC using my hardware, since I have more than enough RAM and CPU power to run Overwatch twice, Witcher 3 and, let's say, Rise of the Tomb raider at the same time... Is it possible (like 7 gamers 1 cpu from Linus Tech Tips) ? Which GPU brand should I prioritize (AMD/NVIDIA) ? What do I have to do to have this working ?

Solution

Could probably run 2 instances of WOW, maybe, on low steeings.

Again, really not enough horsepower. And yes you would need two GPUs to do it, as youd need to assign one to the virtualized system.

You need 2 systems, this is not a viable option for you.

The solution exists and has been published.
Do it like Linus did.

Unfortunately, you probably can't do it with your current collection of parts.

While your PC is good it is definitely not powerful enough to run two instances of Witcher 3 or ROTR. Also to be able to game twice you'd need two GPUs. Its more complicated than you think, and you need a lot more horsepower than you have to do it.

You're better off upgrading his PC.

Let's say at least 2 WOWs, one witcher and one OW ? Something like that ? And if I'd need two GPUs it's better to try to buy Ryzen APUs for him when it's out...

Not really. It is cheaper to build two separate systems.

Thank you (and all the others) for the help. I was hoping that I could split the GPU in too (apparently it's a thing on the Pro cards from AMD, but I don't understand it well enough...)
