Making the switch to Intel, good motherboard to go with an I7 4790k?

So I'm making the switch to Intel, I've been running an FX 8350 for a while now and its simply not good enough and the FX 9590 (which I bought for fun XD) puts out way too much heat, so what are some good motherboards for an I7 4790k? I'm probably going to still use the dual R9 280x's I have so crossfire support would be nice. I have aprox $700 to spend just for CPU+Motherboard so roughly $400 for the mobo, although something between the 200-300 price range would be great! Thanks!

I would buy one of these. Great features and easy auto overclocking, as well as 5 PWM fan headers. Plus it's under 200 dollars so you can put that money into better GPU's!

If you are talking about $400 for a mobo you could get the X99 chipset, but you would have to buy a i7 5xxxk cpu. $200 is plenty. I would suggest a good asus or msi.

Yeah I think Ill be going with the Asus maximus VII but should I spend a little more to get the Formula rather than the hero? Is it worth it?

I don't have experience with maximus but I Couldn't justify spending over 200 on a motherboard

There isnt really a need. Anything above the Z97-A is going to be enough quality for you. There are some small differences that may impact certain purchases, however in your case they do not warrant spending more than the HERO.

I would go with the Z-97A and get a tan color scheme 😛 Some white braided cables, acyrlic liquid cooling with mayhems pastel white, noctua fans, black and tan ram like the corsair vengeance.... perfect build 😛
