Approximate Purchase Date: Within the Next month or so.

Budget Range: $1,200 or below. I have some wiggle room (tax return $$), but the cheaper the better!

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Primarily gaming and watching movies/shows at the same time (dual monitor setup).

Reason for Upgrade: My computer was built in 2012. I now have 1gbs internet connection and the computer has trouble playing overwatch/ other games and streaming netflix. So, I think it may be time for a refresher.

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: I'm not really sure what I need to upgrade. I'm thinking CPU, GPU, and MOBO. New: SSD. Correct me if I'm out of line in my thought.

Do you need to buy OS: Most Likely. Currently running Windows 7 Ultimate -64 bit. Will probably buy a new license for it.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon or Newegg, I know sometimes parts from Amazon are not up to date and that scares me. So it may be safest to purchase from newegg.

Location: Charlotte, NC ,I'll be assembling the hardware.

Parts Preferences: CPU= Intel, that's the only preference. I would like to add an SSD.

Overclocking: I don't know much about overclocking. I do not want to risk reliability for a little extra performance.

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: Currently 1920 X 1080 on both monitors.

Additional Comments: I want a reliable computer that can still take a good beating. I don't game as much as I use to now I'm married. However, I do game (overwatch, rust, dayz, civ V, Company of Heros 2, etc...) and stream shows/ movies simultaneously.

Here is the parts list from my build from 2012 (current computer):

****You guys are going to hate me, but my motherboard and hard drive crashed. IDK what happened, but I had them replaced by a local guy as I was too busy at the time. In my foolishness I did not keep the box or receipts to verify what was installed. the hard drive I currently have is 2 TBS, so plenty of free space available. I would like to add an SSD though.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I got into this a little bit earlier in the post, but I'll elaborate. we just bought our first home and got 1gbs fiber internet installed. However, I'm still downloading stuff at like 3-8 mbs. while my tv (netflix) runs great. That accopmanied with random game and browser crashes has persuaded me to optimize my pc. I mean it's been five years, it's time!

I'm also really confused by my internet. I run speed test that show an avg of 95mbs up and down. However, on Steam or other sites I only download at 10mbs or less, and that wired with the router a few feet away from the computer. So I don't know if it's my ancient hardware, the service provider, or their router/modem. I did see when the service guy was setting up the modem/router that he was pulling 946/mbs on the same speed test on his mac laptop. Which makes me think it's my computer.

I was looking at the Lobotomy - Built By: SR-71 Blackbird $1,500 build posted on here. However, I am unsure that I need all of that and was not sure what components I could still use of my original build.

I know this may seem like a lot, and it is. So thank you everyone that offers some advice or help. It is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks,
-Crispy

Current RAM wouldn't be compatible. Would need DDR4 for newer MOBOs and GPU. I didn't see what PSU you were using currently.

It's a 750 watt power supply. I have added links to the hardware above since you've last replied.
