Making use of your TV out

Well I finally found a use for my TV out. My 19" Trinitron decided that it no longer wished to function tonight around 11PM. Now I have my nice powerful computer

256 megs PC133(Crucial)
815E Abit SE6
Hercules Geforce2 Pro
Hooked up to a 13" Philips Magnavox TV via RCA. Damn can we say drop off in quality. Good news is its only till tomorrow, but still this sucks! And the sad thing is that I have a backup old part for everypart of my pc minus the damn monitor!

Hey buddy how is your 2d graphics? As in high resolution sharpness? pushrod is looking for a Geforce 2 pro and you might give him a push. I've read good reviews on the Hercules Geforce 2 Pro. Anyways he is not sure of which Geforce 2 Pro to buy so maybe you can fill him in on your video board.

I have a 24" TV and I have ordered a Hercules G2 MX DDV. Can I use my TV for text editing/webbrowsing?

It depends on the tv. Some TVs are better then others. If you can use S-Video instead of the old RCA jacks you'll get better quality. It's funny - my ATI Rage 128 based card will drive a 13" tv @ 640*480 but will drive a 25" tv @ 600*800. I wonder how it can tell the difference.

Well now that I have another 19" FD Trini monitor things are nice high res and sharp again. That damn tv was about to drive me insane. Then again it was a temp solution. I would thing a larger TV would help on reading text, but this on was real hard do to vary small size and poor picture quality. The GF2 Pro on 2d does fine on a monitor. It Oc's quite nicely too. Core will do about 235 and mem will do 475 without a problem. Will run at higher clocks, but artifacts are left on screen.
