windows defender is turned off and I cant get it back on, this is how it started a year ago and then that got worse, took a LOT of steps someone walked me through to fix it. The "IT Administrator has limited some access to areas of this app...." message comes up when I go to windows security.

anyways i dont know why the same thing again, im blocked from turning it on or anything else in settings, windows update has some sort of security update or something and it will not allow to install it.

Malware or viruses come from actions of the user.
They don't just 'appear'.

So....

Something nasty enough to disable our built in AV tool, Windows Defender, will likely need a full reinstall.

Or, preferably, a recovery from the Full or Incremental backup you made before this happened.

uh yeah don't know what to tell you but I got help in a forum that requests a TON of logs and immediately calls you out on pirated software being the cause or something illegal (afaik that would be the only thing) and there wasn't a trace, and the guy walked me through a bunch of steps to fix it, no re-install necessary.

interestingly he never said a thing about what it actually was and just walked me through the steps and various programs and said I should turn off windows update. I would have to track down that forum now I cant even remember or just do a fresh install I guess, I don't know if I got any recovery ill have to check
