Mame32 Question..

Hi all

I'm running Mame32 Plus! 0.97 and have a shiny new rom set from Tombstones.
With so many titles, it's proving difficult to work through them all, one by
one, to determine if I want to keep it on my PC (I'm looking at creating a
complete set of my fave titles). ie. what I'm doing is loading the roms onto
the PC, playing one - don't like it, then physically deleting the rom from
the rom folder.

My question is, is there a way to highlight a title within mame32 and then
hit delete to remove title from listing AND delete rom from the system??

many thanks
tim.

Nope.

Well.....clrmamepro doesn't need any additional checkboxes....either
you (or someone) creates an adult/child datfile or you enable/disable
the sets (Settings->sets) in clrmamepro and use the rebuilder to
rebuild only the selected sets (or delete them or whatever).
The setselector allows all kind of regular expressions and usage of
variables...like %m=*namco*;%y=198* for selecting namco games of the
1980 decade...
Problem is, there is no data in a datfile specifying a set is suitable
for kids or not.

To sum it: Simply don't download adult sets on your kid's PC.

Straight from the horse's mouth huh ;)

To be honest I'm quite happy for it to stay that way - once you get the
ability to delete from within MAME32 who knows what sort of mishaps can
occur....

Exactly. ISTR We discussed this at one point, but deleting things
just made us nervous. :)

Mind you, it /would/ be nice if clrmamepro offered
ESRB(http://www.esrb.org/esrbratings_guide.asp) checkboxes, so (for
example) you could build romsets suitable for kids. (Or adults, for that
matter. <G>) I'm sure that there would be enough people willing to help
out to create an 'esrb.ini' file. For example, default every game to
'RP'(Rating Pending), and change it as it gets rated. I'd set it up
myself, except I'm stuck with a little thing called 'Life'. <G>

so '%e=e' would select all the games rated for 'Everyone'? <HINT><HINT> <G>

BTW, I've just created an 'esrb.ini' file and sent a copy off the the
EmuLoader crew:

;; ESRB Ratings (rev. 1) / 14-Jun-05 / MAME .96u4 /
mailto:XXXspamtrap007@gmail.comXXX ;;

[ESRBRating]
005=rp
11beat=rp
1941=rp
