MAME32v0.93 vs MAME32v0.93u1

Why the huge size difference in the
uncompressed executables?
0.93 is 10 MB larger than 0.93u1.
This was supposed to be a quick fix, right?
What was broken that it cut 10 MB out of the
file?
Is this normal for a full release vs. interim
release?
I've been out of the loop for a bit and this
is the first
interim release that I've downloaded, since
JohnIV is
now compiling the interim releases and
putting them
on the MAME32 website (via gamespy network,
of course).
Simple explanation please, I'm not a
programmer, just curious.

No, the "u" releases are always the same size, or bigger. I was also
wondering why the sudden drop in size!

I think they took a big block of static data out of the neo-geo driver,
it's now allocated used from the heap as need.

I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that all people are different.
It's just one of *my* favourite games...it doesn't mean to say it will
be one of yours....so yeah it could be a dissapointment to you.

Yup and I'm not dissing your favorite game. Although I love the
classics and played all of them in the wild, I don't remeber Buggy Boy.
Was it rare? Is it a classic in the real sense of the word or is it
merely from the classic age? Hopefully, when it arrives, I can slap my
forehead and say, "D'oh, how'd I forget that one".

I don't think it was particularly rare
I'm sure it's regarded as a true classic by many people.

I do remember that game and it was pretty good. Didn't the cab have a
steering wheel, gear shift and accelerater? Isn't it really called Speed
Buggy? Was Buggy Boy a clone of Speed Buggy? What made it a nightmare
for emulation?
