Management Console Error

When open Disk Management in Computer Management get
error message "Microsoft Management Console Has Encountered
A Problem and Needs To Close. Sorry for inconvenience"

Details of error:
AppName: mmc.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.2180
ModName: dmdskmgr.dll

Using XP Pro SP2. Any info on what this means or
how to fix would be much appreciated.

Did you ever find out how to fix this problem? I am getting the same error and have the same version as you.
