Is HD7870 capable of running Mantle api?

i think they've hinted that it's capable, since the 270x is basically a 7870 anyways, it should.

Yeah they are the same but i thought that the reason for bringing out the new cards was so that the new ones could support mantel whilst the older ones didnt (ie easy way to make money)
