With the recent release of Star Swarm on Steam, and the upcoming 14.1 Mantle Drivers for AMD GCN cards, has anyone downloaded and performed any testing yet?

At this time 14.1 beta is not yet released, here are my resuts on 13-12 drivers. AMD fx-6300, Asus DCUII 7850 2GB ddr5, Win 8.1, Seagate 7200rpm hdd

Here is mine, how is yours hangin?

This is for follow...as of now it doesn't look as though the extra cores of my 8350 is doing much...probably the overclock doing more of the work in the slight advantage there and the GPU... Though it looks like batch count can vary from test to test so this may be a tough one to get accurate readings from.

Same set-up as my first post though it picked up my XT as my main card when choosing a single GPU...weird.
RTS stress
6.76-D3D
15.82-Mantle

Went to Microcenter last night and could not resist the urge to pick up the fx 8320 and a couple of SSD's. I will be updating tomorrow.

Well it runs like pants on a single 660Ti, I wonder if there is any truth that the default settings cripple the performance on Nvidia cards and Intel CPU's?

If this demo is a Mantle showcase and so had the default settings suggested by AMD then it's a really bad PR stunt because the performance on Nvidia cards seems to be crippled on purpose.

Change two settings and it goes like stink!

That isn't so bad. It beat the 7950 above it.

Ta for that but I still have to wonder about the default settings.

SLi is interesting as well, the average fps drops but the batch count goes up a bit.

To note my first post was D3D and the second one was the RTS stress which is much more intensive...

Regardless..what he's getting is an example of there stress test on Direct X...not mantle...you need the 14.1 catalyst drivers in order to test out mantle.

I would also have to install my 7790 but I can't be bothered!

Seems like a useless benchmark. I couldn't imaging they will make a game people will buy with it. I could barely tolerate running it twice. Too boring to watch.

Here's my Mantle run (no upgrades yet). I have almost doubled the total frames. and my Avg frames are up 50%.

I wonder why some of the NVidia/Intel setups had such low batch counts?

Yeah I was looking at that.

Disabling motion blur also gives Nvidia cards a boost and makes the demo watch-able without inducing nausea.

well i mean enabling deferred context can boost the performance. does it do the same on amd hardware with deferred boost enabled?

You're right it does but I don't know what affect it has on AMD cards, I was just adding that a further boost can be had by disabling motion blur.

basically with mantle average fps was 46 and minimum was about 21 using an r9 280x
with d3d it got to unplayable levels like 5 fps so i left it

extreme quality and attract

Okay, so Star Swarm updated let's see what the damage is.

Um not much difference from the initial Mantle release.
