Mantle, what is it? Should I use it?

Hello,

So I have been trying to figure out what Mantle is, the new software from AMD that came out today. From what I understand it is a way to boost the performance of the CPU by using the GPU in some way. That is about the extent of my knowledge. So I was just wondering what exactly it does and if it is worth using.

I have a AMD Radeon HD 7950 so I think that Mantle will work on my card, it seems 7000 series and above is what it works on. I am running a AMD FX-6350 for my processor as well if that info helps any.

Ah.... lol, I never found the official link to AMD's website describing it. I just found a bunch of articles stating that it was delayed and some stuff like that, never anything really describing what it does.
