So 1 and a half years ago we got that new router because of faster internet. However in the last like 2 months issues start to annoy me. We use DLAN and DLAN Wifi Repeaters around the house as the Router is located in the basement. Now for the problems:
The internet often breaks down (the router suddenly disconnects and updated itself, then reconnect) and after that my phone (LG G3 with CM 13 and Android 6.0.1) keeps getting "wifi authentication problem" or the connection drops and reconnects very quickly. I've tried unplugging and restarting the router AGAIN however this didn't work 100%. I've also unchecked "Avoid poor connections" in advanced Wifi setting. Also it the internet is rather slow sometimes and won't load pages after all.

Sounds like it is the main socket then xD

I am trying to give you stuff to eliminate possible issues and zone in on what it is. It's this process which allows you to uncover the issue as it's really difficult to identify or pinpoint without doing tests on-site. I hope some of it has given you ideas of what to try out.

Try calling the provider and getting them to test your line from their side. Sometimes they reset the signal and this actually helps (I used to live remotely in Germany and T-Com sent a diagnostic signal...
Could be a plethora of things, and we really need a lot more info: How is the house connected to the net (copper? fibre optic? satellite? 4g modem?)? Is the router connected to the main phone socket/fibre socket or an extension? Does your house have a closed circuit for electricity? Do other flats/tenants have access to it? How many devices are connected to the router directly/indirectly? Are all your devices connected via wifi? Have you tried using a device for an extended period of time connected via ethernet to the router? Are the Dlan devices plugged into the wall or a multisocket adapter?

That should eliminate 90% of possible issues if the answers are what I expect.

Thanks

Hey, thanks for your answer. I'm trying to answer all your questions, but I don't know all of them. Well the router is connected via "post" , I made a picture of the whole setup

. And yea I guess it's a closed circuit (why should it not be?) No other house uses our internet. We have 2 Wifi repeaters, two DLAN adapters and 2 phones connected via Wifi. The TV and my PC use the DLAN adapters. I haven't tried using a device with ethernet connection but we use an old laptop to configure the router settings via ethernet. The two adapters are in a multisocket, however I never had any connection problems (internet loss) with it as the LED always shines green (which means normal speed and connectivity).

I also restarted the router, yet I still can't connect to wifi (authentication error or it just jumps back to "saved" status. The WiFi is turned on on the router though).

One thing I would always always recommend with these is that the Dlan adapters are in the wall socket. There are many electrical devices which could cause interference and mess with the signal to the box, by having it in a multisocket that chance increases a lot more.

How secure is your network? Seen any odd devices registered to it? (Unlikely but can sometimes be a problem)

In the last 2 months since the problems arose, have you connected a) a new device that wasnt there before to the network or b) connected a new appliance/electrical device to the power sockets?

Have you checked to see if the latest firmware is installed on the box?

My main suspect is the phone socket. If it isn't the main socket it can easily cause a disturbance in the signal (a disturbance in the force... xD) and severely weaken or destabilize it. Even if it worked before.

Sorry I am rattling off all of the factors that come to mind and that I have dealt with for myself and others with Dlan adapters in houses and flats.

Well the Router disconnected and restarted itself yesterday, so I guess there was an update. No odd devices in it, the pw is very long. No new devices to the power socket. What do you mean with the phone socket?

every house has one main socket

all other sockets are extensions and quality is severely impacted to those...in 99% of cases. Just enough to fuck with internet and just too little to be noticeable with a phone.

Is the basement socket the main phone socket of the house?

I'm afraid no. When we moved in however we waited 2 days after the proposed date for transferring our connection to the new house and tried every socket out and the one in the basement was the only one that worked

Sometimes they reset the signal and this actually helps (I used to live remotely in Germany and T-Com sent a diagnostic signal down the line which somehow cleaned it and hey presto, I had a higher speed and zero stability issues, no guarantees but worth a try)
