Hi Everyone,

I have set up Windows Server 2012 R2 with remote access and remote web access.

Both are working great from inside and outside of the office LAN network.

However, I am struggling to map a network drive from outside the office network on the laptops.

I can map a network drive from my office PC to the local server fine. But when I try to map the drive on one of the laptops from outside of the network using the domain, it just times out and I get the 0x80070035 network not found error?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank.

Solution
You need to set a VPN and then use that to connect to your office network when working from another network.

Edit. Check this article on how to install VPN on your Windows Server 2012 r2.
Hi Samat,

Thanks for your response. I have done that and I can log into the VPN network from my laptop ok.

But I cant see any of the networked folders / server?

Thanks

EDIT. Manually typing in the address in the map network box showed me all of the files.

So I guess that everything is now working!? Until I find something else is wrong!

Thanks

Netbios is not getting through to give you a nice listing under explorer, but if the direct method work, you are good to go.
