Maps not appearing? Too many maps?

Hi,

I've downloaded loads of new maps for Quake over time but I've noticed that
some of them are disappearing - the .pk3 files are still there and I can
load them from the console but they've stopped showing up in the in-game map
browser.

Is there a limit to the number of maps Quake'll show in the game? Maybe I've
just maxed out...

I think there was a limit, but that was removed with a patch. If you're
using the latest version of Q3 you shouldn't have a problem unless one
of the pk3s is fubared and causing later ones not to be loaded.
