How do you make two sims that are in love get married, if they live in
separate lots? So far I have managed to get engaged, but when I try to marry
the Sims together I get a window which prompts me to move in sims along with
the fiancé. Is it not possible to just move the fiancé in along with the
family already in the lot, or does the fiancé have to move in with her eg:
mother?

It's possible. Just don't move any other sims over using that list. Just hit
the check mark or whatever and you should only get the the one sim.

If you want them to have a wedding ceremony, don't click the get married
option. Once they are engaged and your fiance has moved in, make a
phonecall and 'invite' sims to a wedding....

I figured it out.
I had the fiancé invited and one of the family members called to arrange a
wedding party. I invited the other family. Then at the marriage alter I
clicked get married and the window came up - I didn't realize that you could
simply just click the check sign and be done with it! So nobody I didn't
want to move in had to come.
Thanks for those who replied!

I think they are just getting confused over the move in box.

When ever a sim is going to move, whether they are moving out or moving in,
and there are other sims in the household (where your moving from), it will
always ask if there is someone else going to move with them. Like the dad
sim spends too much time watching tv, and not helping with the kids and
stuff... moms tired of this, so she packs up and moves. It will ask if
there is someone else moving with her, that gives you the option of allowing
the kids to move out with her or not.
