You know, in a comic book universe, we'd be seeing the origin of a costumed
criminal.

"In a comic book universe," he says. Give it a few months in our
so-called real world, I say, and all of a sudden The Domestic
Goddess will be knocking over banks and leaving a gorgeous
flower arrangement in place of the cash.

I'd like to see some sort of accident during a centerpiece-making
class in prison where she's doused with radioactive chemicals and
gains control over pinecones, cornstalks, and maybe spray paint.

She'd make a GREAT Mrs. Dr. Octopus.

And so a 1970s Batman villain. The Domestic, whose crimes always
relate to decorating or cooking.

No, even Batman villains didn't have pseudonyms that lame.

Eesh... with 8 arms, she could remake the entire world in her image.

Depends... the 60s Batman series had some bloody awful villain names.

The Bookworm
The Minstrel
Louie the Lilac

More than likely, she would've had a different first name and been called
"Domesti-Kate" or some such.

That sounds like a *great* nickname for a 20's/50's mobster.

May as well be called "Peter the Pansy."

You know anyone who can survive in the mafia with the nickname "Lilac" or
Pansy
has got to be tough!

Hey, the mafia lifestyle involves a fair amount of flowers.
Big weddings, swank restaurants, and the not-so-infrequent
occasion of funerals. And they'll want to buy them from
some good fella in the neighborhood, one of their own.

So, Louie "The Lilac" Fiorello runs a couple of legitimate
flower shops around town. It's not too smart to suggest this
makes him effeminate in any way; since part of his business
is to dispose of 'plant food', no questions asked.

This usually takes place down in the sub-basement, where he
keeps all the /special/ plants (the carnivorous ones).

So *that's* where Audrey II has been hiding ever since she got zapped
by Seymour! Is that mean green mother from outer space still trying
to take over the world?

Wayne

So they don't just grind up some blood and bone fertiliser?

I hated the happy ending in the latter movie version. With the original
ending it's a powerful christian parable, without it it's just some stuff
that
happens.
