Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 PC problem

I have recently started playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for PC again after a long while, and once in a while the game simply does autosave or allows to save manually. It allows me to navigate the pause menu, but the save game function doesn't work. I tried looking online for a solution and I got nothing. Please help.

ok. you've confused me with information that either clashes or seems irrelevant.

What I am gathering that you are actually saying is the problem is that auto save doesn't do it's thing and when you try to manual save, it says it saves it but doesn't actually save it?

If this is the case, all you have to do is play the game by running it as administrator.

No luck with "Run as Administrator". It's very odd. Saving used to work with Games for Windows. Ever since it moved to Steam was when this issue started

I'm confused now.
You say you used to play it and are now playing it again.
Did you lose your original copy and ended up buying it again on steam?

I believe I've worked out the problem. Apparently using an Xbox Controller causes conflict with saving.
