So I have got a few bits and pieces over the last few months mainly through computer fairs and deals on Gumtree etc. This is what I have come up with:

Case: Generic non brand plain ATX tower - cost £4
PSU: Mercury 450w ATX - cost £10
Board: Biostar A55ML2 AMD Board - cost £20
Processor: AMD A6 5400k Black Edition 3.6ghz - cost £24
Memory: Kingston 4GB DDR3 1333mhz - cost £28
Hard Drive: Maxtor 500gb Sata - Already owned
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 650 1GB DDR5 - cost free (present from the missus)
OS: Windows XP Pro 64bit with COA - Cost £25 (budget won't stretch to Win 7)

Total Costs are: £111

My questions are:

1. Will the above system play the latest COD and SimCity 2013 at 1280 x 1024 resolution without any issues ?

2. My budget was £150 so I have £39 left, What would be the next best upgrade for £39 ? More memory ?

Thanks

You are far better off with a better PSU. That Mercury is appalling and shouldn't be powered on. Cheap PSUs are always bad. I would look at this one before you do anything else -

XFX core edition 450w 80+ Bronze certified PSU - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/450w-Psu-Xfx-450w-80-Plus-Bronze-Psu-/360749788457?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item53fe5ced29

Here are all the advantages of this PSU -

1 - Much, much higher quality components used in this ones, so less chance of it going BANG!

2 - A lot more cables than that one, which doesn't have a 6 pin PCI-e connector. They are also much longer and sleeved for less dust buildup

3 - Actually has more watts than that Mercury "450 watt PSU." Honestly, cheap PSUs have a much lower wattage than it's advertised to be. I would say that PSU you have has about 275 watts, not 450.

To answer your other question, yes. You should be relatively fine playing at that resolution.
