I'm very disappointed that such an expensive monitor has such an issue.
What happens is that, every so often, the monitor will flicker, as though the display is being refreshed. Sometimes you can see black bars for a microsecond that span the entire width of the screen.
Unfortunately, this isn't even during gaming mode - this happens most frequently when on the desktop, or browsing the internet. It's been happening more frequently as time progresses... and first it was only once or twice, but now as I write this, it's been flickering on and off for the better part of an hour. I have a feeling it's something to do with the G-sync, but I don't know enough about it to know for sure, or how to fix it.
I'm running this monitor at 1080p, as I found 4k to be too small, and there was no 200% scaling option, but I'll be exploring that in more detail when I get the time. At the moment, I shall be buying a new DisplayPort cable within the next few days to see if this is the issue. If not, I'll be returning the monitor, as it is currently making using my computer rather frustrating.
UPDATE: I was able to get it on video so you could see what I'm talking about. For context, it was a 40 degree day... which I'm only mentioning because it's somewhat cooler now and not flickering at all. Strangely, it also seems to be of varying intensity depending on the colour being displayed (hence why I change the image a few times).
I'm currently running SLI'd GTX 670's, although SLI is currently disabled because Fallout 4 doesn't play well with it. I don't believe it's my graphics card, as my second monitor (a 1080p one) is perfectly fine while all this is going on, and they're attached to the same card.

Update #2: It started turning off completely yesterday afternoon and this morning, almost as though the signal was 180 degrees out of phase with the refresh rate. The problem became so bad that I installed Windows 10 onto the PC just to see if that helped. It didn't... though it now seems to be behaving itself after a driver update. Only time will tell.
Exhibit B: This is what it was doing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tZFjpovhKU
