Massive problem Please Help

Ive Literally just rebuilt my PC, Same Components but with a different case and when i power it on. all LED's, fans, Back USB's are all working (Mouse,Keyboard). For some reason the monitor is just black, with a large cursor at the bottom that i cannot move. the Monitor switches resolution a few times and then stops at at 640 by something.

Motherboard - Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2
Motherboard Expansion - 1x PCI Express x16, 1x PCI Express x1, 1x PCI
CPU Type - AMD FM2 Dual Core
CPU Model - AMD FM2 A6 6400K 3.9ghz Dual Core
CPU Socket - AMD FM2
CPU Speed - 3.9 Ghz
CPU Max Turbo Clock Speed - 4.1 Ghz
CPU Cooler - Standard AMD Cooler
Memory - 8GB DDR3 1600mhz Performance Ram
Hard Drive Size - 1tb Western Digital WD10EZEX 64mb Cache 7200rpm
Optical Drive -Samsung 24x Sata DVD Writer
Graphics Card - Onboard AMD Radeon HD 8470D
PSU Size - EVGA 500w 80 Plus Certified 40a Single Rail Power Supply

All i Have done is put it in this case: Corsair CC-9011052-WW Carbide Series SPEC-03 Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case with Red LED Fan - Black

Any Suggestions on how to fix will be highly appreciated

If you have a different cable type, try that and see if it fixes it. For instance, if you had it plugged in through an HDMI, try a DVI cable. If that fixes it, then your computer's graphics card "plug" for that type is probably fried. If it doesn't, then I'm guessing you don't have something seated correctly or one of the plugs is loose from the card to the power supply or mobo.

But these are just guesses.

It`s never as simple as you wish it to be when moving a motherboard from one case to another.

But I will run you through a list of the possible causes where you should check each in order of listing.

1.First of all what tends to happen if you have more than one hard disk drive in the system is by moving it to another case. You connect the hard drives sata data cable to the wrong Sata port it was originally connected to when in the old case.

If the boot device is no longer found on the Sata port where it used to exist it will stop, or halt the bios post or booting process. So you must ensure that the boot drive with the os on it is connected tothe right sata port of the motherboard.

2. Check that you have indeed connected the 24 Pin ATX power block from the PSU to the motherboard and it is seated firmly to the socket of the motherboard, along with the four or eight pin 12x E-atx connector direct from your PSU to the motherboard.

Failing to connect the four or eight pin 12v connector can prevent the board from fully powering up or posting.

3. If the motherboard has any sort of Pci-e based graphics card (Noted yours does not). Connect the video cable from the monitor to the video ports of the motherboard if an on board video solution is present.

I think your cause PoshHobo is because the cursor you see is where it is searching for the boot device or Hard drive of your system where the boot able Os partition is.

But because you have changed the order of what Sata port on the board you have connected it to it`s why it halts.
So I suggest that you check this.
And move the Sata data cable from one sata port with the system turned off and connect it to another and try and see if windows starts to boot.
If not shut down the system and move the sata data cable again checking it for a boot to windows.

Simple but it catches people out, the bios of the motherboard takes note of what the boot device with windows os on it is connected to eg Port 1, 2,4,6 ect.
If it does not find it on the expected sata port booting and posting halts.

In other words the cursor you see is where it was looking for the boot able device.
None found on expected Sata port = system halt. error.

Remember the bios does a system test, and once it reaches a test such as searching for the set boot device on a set Sata port, and it fails you will see a flat lined cursor, solid or flashing. Check the drive has power also BTW.

Thank you. i have tried every Sata Port (There are 4) and none of them seem to work. however, before i moved i remember disconnecting wires from other wires and connected to my power supply are 3-4 random Sata adapters that are too big for anything on my motherboard and a 4 pin thing that has no label?

a 4pin thing that has no label could be the square 2x2 CPU power cable. it's kinda necessary. though your board takes an 8pin CPU power cable - but most will work OK with just a 4pin.

what is plugged in, and what isn't? list EVERYTHING, don't skip something assuming we know it's plugged in.

SATA (Although its not working and not in the right slot but none of them are working)
