So, I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 yesterday and I have run into some major issues. Basically, I can't do anything that is incorporated to Windows itself.
I can't
- open the Start Menu
- use Cortana or the taskbar search
- use ANY of the Windows-own taskbar icons on the bottom left (e. g. volume control, notification center etc.)

and since the last reboot,
- Microsoft Edge's icon doesn't show up on the taskbar and I can't open it and
- the Control Panel doesn't want to be opened.

The only thing that's kinda working is the task manager, and I've had a time where that basically crashed immediately when I opened it.

Note that every other program seems to be fine, e. g. Chrome or Spotify. I also can interact with every non-windows icon on the bottom left, e. g. Hamachi, Rainmeter or avast!. Can anyone help me?

Solution

I have no idea. You're flying on your own with this one.
Pirated original OS, upgrading to Win 10, remains pirated.

Seeing as you seem to be having multiple problems, I DO know of one way to conclusively fix it:
Buy a valid legal OS.

Solution
Ok, turns out I was pretty stupid. All I had to do is remove some programs from the autostart, now nearly everything works apart from Cortana. It seems something was interfering with the boot process.
