How can you have such a high end pc with a crappy powersupply?

The powersupply is the most important parts of a long living system.It supplies everything.From fans to the GPU,its all powered by the powersupply.You want the cleanest and efficient wattage to power your components.A bad powersupply can result in shutting down,blowing up (not literally,but part by part),causing smoke to come out of it,and the worst part,it can fry your components.Literally any component that is connected to the psu can be fried.Also,if you dont have enough power cables for your graphics card,dont ever use adapters.They are a fire hazard,they often dont even transfer enough power to the components,which can lead to the GPU frying it self.Always make sure you have all the cables needed for a certain component connected,if not,then thats a sign that your powersupply wasnt ever mean to supply such a component,so dont even try it.Those are some tips for preventing a fire.

ROG STRIX B450-F is by no means a old motherboard,it cant be old since the platform it is based on (RYZEN) is still supported and manufactured,therefore it cant be 'old'.
The PCIe slot (where you plugg in your graphics card) on this motherboard is Gen 3.0,3080 is based on PCIe 4.0 .The good thing is that PCIe 4.0 is backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0,which means that you can run a 3080 perfectly fine on that motherboard.
Also,the motherboard has full support for 5000 series cpu's,so you just need this bios update for ithe 5900x to run.
For a bios update you will need either 1st,2nd or 3rd gen ryzen CPU,so can you arrange those?
If not,take the mobo to your local pc service and ask them if they can do the bios update for you (assuming they have such a cpu in their workshop).
