Mathematica

Mathematica is a mathematics software package. When given an intense calculation, the processor only runs at 50 to 60% of its capacity (which is 3ghz). For what possible reasons would the software not be utilizing the full power of the processor? I have made sure that the DDR PC3200 Ram is running in dual mode. I've also enabled hyperthreading as well; doesn't seem to make a difference.

But even when I disable hyperthreading in the bios the cpu still runs well below 100%.
