I have a HP 6910p laptop wiht the standard Matshita DVD drive. I just discovered the drive will play a DVD fine but will not read a Linksys software disk. I've tried other data disks with same malfunction. Tried a music CD with same results. Only the DVD format is recognized.
I tried reg-editing out the upper & lower filters seen in other successful fixes but did not have an affect here. Faulty drive?
I have another drive to swap out but not sure how to pull this drive from the HP model. Suggestions?
