if i want to use a small mATX case for my mATX board, but hold many 3.5" hard drives (6 or more), what mATX cases are there that do it? i know i can just use a full-size ATX case, but i don't want the height. i want the smaller height of a mATX build. not using a graphics card, just onboard and a bunch of hard drives.

ideas? i shop in Canada, so NCIX.com and CanadaComputers.com are my first stops, with Newegg.ca being quite distant.

hmm, my Fractal Core 1500 has 4 easily and could go 6 if i "steal" the 5.25" bays or make a custom bracket to hold another 2 drives in the empty space between the two cages.... but that case will likely be used by another system i'm cobbling together.

i'm not keen on a NAS as i'd want something fully self-contained that i could keep at home 95% of the time or just grab and carry elsewhere (friends place or cottage) as one unit, OS and graphics and everything in one box. a heavy box due to the HDDs, but that's why i go to the gym...

I would recommend the Arc Mini 2 from Fractal Design. http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/arc-series/arc-mini-r2.
2 - 5.25" bays
6 - 3.5" HDD trays - all compatible with SSDs
2 - 2.5" dedicated SSD positions behind the motherboard plate

oh sweet! that's just about perfect! i'm not a fan of the curved front, but that layout works perfectly for me. now, the price... it's a bit steep now but i will grab one when a sale comes on. thanks!

if there's anything else along those same lines (6+2 or even 7+1), then i'd appreciate it if you point me in that direction too.
