CS:GO is set on very low settings, everything disabled. Resolution is 1280x1024. There is no fps cap.

Rest of the build:
Ryzen 3 3200g
16gb 3200MHZ DDR4 (dual channel)
GTX 1650 Super
500GB WD blue SSD

That's a very poor CPU for high frame rates: it has only 4 cores / 4 threads and provides only 8 lanes of PCIe 3.0. It's what AMD calls an APU, a CPU with integrated graphics. It's designed to be used on its own for sub 60 fps gaming, not high refresh rates with a discreet GPU. Your CPU choice has resulted in a CPU bottleneck.

Cs:go is very cpu demanding. You also play in low resolution which puts even more pressure on the cpu. You lowered the settings which made the GPU used even less.

The rest of the games depend more on the GPU than the cpu, that's why you see improvement.

That's a shame. Can you give me advice on what I should upgrade to then? I'm currently choosing between a 3300x and a 3500. I would get a 2600 but the prices here are currently higher than the MSRP. Should I opt for a 6 core cpu or the 3300x's CCX layout?
