I'm not sure how to interpret the table at:

<http://uk.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/Support/CPUSupportList/CPUSupportList_GA-8IRXP.htm>

I've reproduced a section below:

Intel P4-Northwood 2.66G 533 -
Intel P4-Northwood 2.53G 533 -
Intel P4-Northwood 2.4G 533 -
Intel P4-Northwood 2.26G 533 N/A
Intel P4-Northwood 1.73G 533 -
Intel P4-Northwood 1.6G 533 N/A
Intel P4-Northwood 2.6G 400 -
Intel P4-Northwood 2.4G 400 OK
Intel P4-Northwood 2.2G 400 OK

The "OK" and "N/A" are explained, but what about the "-"?

For example can I use a 2.4G (or 2.66G) 533, but run it at 400 FSB?

The IRXP is designed to use 478 pin 400 FSB CPU,you can probably use a 533 FSB
in it by setting the FSB to 133 instead of 100,but you'll have to lock the PCI
and AGP buss to 33/66 so it wont be overclocked. The board is also a little
picky about the type of ram you use, it is rated for 2100 but you can use 2700
which would be necessary if you up ths FSB to 133. If you dont already have
the IRXP i would suggest a different board,i had one of those and it was not
one of their better boards. DOUG

Agreed. But check the CPU stepping - see these two threads from last year
where I had answered this question:
