max double buffer

I changed the settings in gamer profile.xml. I changed max double buffer from 0 to 1 as. I Was getting lag and stutters in far cry primal with gtx 750 ti. It stopped my stutters.
Is it dangerous to do so? is it going to blow my video chip?

Your video chip will be fine. While I can't say what the specifics of the "max double buffer" setting are, the basics behind double buffering are that the card draws to a secondary buffer instead of directly to the main frame buffer, then swaps the two buffers for output to the display. This has pluses and minuses, but if it makes your game play better, by all means, double buffer!
