I know the RTX 4xxx series are on the way. I have an Alienware Aurora R10 with a RTX 2070 Super. I've read here on Tom's that the RTX 4070 supposedly will be equal in performance to the RTX 3090. So my question is, what GPU could I put into the R10 without creating a CPU bottle neck?

Ideally you should be looking at an RTX3060 or higher but I'd wait out until the RTX4000 series come out before making a decision, if you can hold out, that is. What is the make and model of your PSU and how old is it?
It’s a 1000W Platinum PSU that came with the Aurora R10. It’s a Dell brand or made for Dell. Although I can use any fully modular ATX PSU.

I can hold out for the 4000 series. My RTX 2070 Super still does a good job at 1080p. I would like to use the PC for 2160p gaming, that’s if the 4070 is in fact equivalent to an RTX 3090.

From what i’ve read the RTX 2070 Super beats an RTX 3060 and the YT video gaming comparisons seem to confirm that the 2070 Super is the slightly better card.

For 4K I expect you will be using a monitor with no more than 165Hz. My 3700X did a great job of 144Hz gaming so you should have no problem with adequate fps. As for what gpu well at 4K the question is how much you want to spend, you could run any 3000 series card very well at 4K.
