Max HDD capacity on MSI 870A-G54 motherboard

Whats the max HDD capacity that I can use with this motherboard? is it 2TB or more?

Are you aware that drives over 2.2TB must be initialized as GPT drives, not MBR drives? The older and default MBR disk format stops at 2.2 TB and leaves the rest of the drive unusable.

but my motherboard does not have UEFI BIOS, so that's mean I can't use GPT right?

Hey there, DarkDestinny.

From what I was able to find out about the mobo's specs, it seems like you'd have to stick with 2TB drives. Here's the thread to prove it: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=164678.0. Otherwise @WyomingKnott's advice is spot on about initializing larger than 2TB drives.

if greater than 2TB requires UEFI bios and 64 bit OS required
but this is not necessary if not boot disk

This disk will be for data storage not as boot disk. So you say that I can use more than 2TB disk on this mobo if it's not for boot drive? or what you mean?
for OS I have SSD.

Implies windows 7 service pack 1. And gpt partitions required

But you still may have bios problems preventing this working and problems of advanced format 4 k sectors which do not emulate 512 byte sectors still can cause problems

If you have not purchased big hdd yet get a pair of 1.5 gb or 2 gb hdd

I have a Windows 7 SP1 64bit, but as I said before I don't have UEFI BIOS on this mobo. So I'm gonna stick with 2TB HDD.
