I have an i5-3570k on a Gigabyte Z77X-D3H mobo and am running 8gb of PC-12800 GSkill RAM. I'm pretty sure the mobo will support faster RAM but unsure how to figure out what the max speed the CPU/mobo combo will support. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Not looking to overclock.

Solution
memory speed support is cpu dependant since memory controller lies withing the cpu.! overclocking the cpu will allow running faster ram. if you wont be overclocking better go with 1866. if you will 2133mhz will be just fine and keep price reasonable.prefer cl of 9 or below. if you are involved with editing and stuff you can really benefit from faster ram.!

The max speed of memory you support is 3200 MHZ DDR3 Ram.

Example: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f33200c13d8gtxdg

I was able to add 3200 mhz ram to his board/cpu without any compability issues?

Edit, i read wrong at the voltage.

(The G.Skill Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-3200 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Ivy Bridge CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.)

Would Corsair Vengeance PC3-15000, DDR3 1866 with timings of 9-9-9-24 at 1.5 volts be a good choice. I'm in Canada(lousy exchange to US$) and I can get 2x4gb for C$74(US$55)

Thanks for the recommendation. Just ordered them. Not sure what the difference between 9-9-9-24 and 9-10-9-28 is but I bet I wouldn't notice the difference. C$16 saving when you consider the taxes.
