Increase it to do what? You could go to 4GB but anymore is a waste on that system. "max Ram" won't help you. If you want to game then it's time for a new one
Well I have a E6600 2.4GHZ as well and iv upgraded the RAM to 4GB DDR2. Would it be possible to buy and use the xms2 2GB RAM and have 4 sticks brining it to 8GB RAM. Heres the link to the ram I will buy if it would be worth it. And will it fit my board ???

Could you let me know your motherboard model number? It depends on the motherboard if it supports more than 4GB of memory. If supports then maybe you can look at it. So let me know?
Yes, the memory should work in your system. As per the memory specification it looks compatible and should work. But it can (10%-20%) lead to compatibility issues when mixed with other brand memory especially if it is a generic brand.
Make sure if you are having 64Bit or 32Bit OS. 32Bit OS will recognize upto 3GB - 3.5GB of memory. So install a 64Bit OS to utilize more than 4GB of memory. Click here --> to determine if your system is running a 32bit or 64bit OS. (The article is for all the windows OS namely XP, windows 7, Windows 8, so expand the respective topic)
