What's the max limit of ram installed with 98se before running into problems if any?
Seems to be believed 512mb is the max. Any drawbacks if there's more?

I know i posted when this question came up before, but i cant find it because it was so far back. I tried the workarounds in the articles Toejam31 posted, and with some work got 1 GB to run. However, the system ran faster with 512 MB and no workarounds.

The suggested max ram for Win98/SE is 512 mb.

After that, performance improvement is small, stays the same or decreases slightly.

Could be workarounds but why bother. Probably better to use XP if more ram required.
