Max. RAM supported?

I have an old second hand Toshiba Satellite s1000 z2 (Model no. PS100E-001RE-EN) laptop, (Which I suspect was raided for RAM before I got it), and am thinking of upgrading the RAM. Obviously I don't have the manual, so I need to know how much RAM it supports, and any other RAM related facts about my laptop.

Whoops! Just realised the spare sticks I had were the wrong type! XD

Two separate Toshiba forum posts have stated 1GB in 512MB increments can be installed.

Thanks. In that case I already have (nearly) maxed out RAM. (I say nearly because according to my BIOS, there is 509 MB RAM. I suspect that one of the chips has failed.)
