What is the maximun temperature CPU can withstand for a long period of time without fear of burning out?
Mione is currently (OC'd) 56 degrees full load...is that too much?

You should be fine with those temps under full load. However I would not let it get over 65 celcius.

What you could also do is, in CoreTemp, click Options -> Settings. Then uncheck "Enable Logging".

That way, it will run in the background and it wont continuously log your temps in a log file (which can get rather large). You can then just hover your mouse over the CoreTemp system tray icon to quickly chck your temps.

Excellent...but I still assume that under 60C is safe with all CPU's? Right?

Yes, that is safe. But its still a bit high. When OC'ing your components, you need to ensure that you have adequate cooling.

Dont want to get too technical, but heat is bad for your cpu, the lower you can get your temps, the better...

Hmm, im sure i read somewhere that AMD's stock cooling is somewhat better than Intel's stock cooling. When you put the new cooler on, did you get rid of the old thermal paste that was already on your cpu? (Thats if you first had the stock HSF on before you installed the arctic cooler)

Oh, and are you absolutely sure that the Arctic cooler is seated properly on the MoBo?

Yep, wiped it clean every time, both CPU and bottom of the cooler.
But as for seating, it does have slight offset, it doesn't sit in the middle of CPU, but slightly to the right edge. It is impossible to set it differently, I tried and tried, even used a lot of force...
But there is no air space between CPU, paste and cooler if that's what you meant...
