Solution
Never assume TDP and CPUID are the same, they're not.

Most OEM MOBO's have a VERY LIMITED CPUID support. Unless your Aspire X3400G lists a CPU assume the other CPU's will NOT work. If the CPUID is lacking the CPU might run but it will be severely limited and 'dummied-down' or simply Fail to Post.

I strongly suggest that you contact ACER and get a list of supported CPU(s) -> http://secure3.tx.acer.com/findsystem/FindSystem.aspx?title=Contact+Support&brand=Acer

125w CPUs are supported according to the link. I suggest the 965BE. Good luck!

should i refer to that chart from acer itself or somehow check my motherboard? but yea i noticed it said 965 is supported with 125w tdp, and i upgraded the psu from 220w to 350w. i should be good with that 50w gt 430 and 125w cpu. and right now the 965black edition is 129 on new egg sale :) i might just buy it right now :) im just hoping i dont burn up my motherboard trying to get the best upgrades for this 350 dollar computer.

actually COLgeek your wrong sorry to say. but i contacted acer and they even explained to me why and what my motherboard supports. and its definately 95w. :) they even showed me where the voltage or wattage indication was on my motherboard :) thanks for your time tho. and JAQUITH i know. it will only support any phenom ii up to x4 only not x6. and max TDP is 95w. thank you
